What needed to change
Customers do not always fit predefined service packages. The experience needed to let them choose a vehicle, select detailing services, add optional extras and understand their order before checkout.
How I worked through it
Rethinking the purchase flow
The Build Your Detail journey starts with the vehicle and moves through service selection, extras and a final review. It aims to keep a multi-step decision approachable on phones as well as desktops.
Connecting UI to editable products
The site is built around WordPress and WooCommerce, with a configurator that references actual products and service categories. Making the experience editable in the backend matters as much as how it looks in the browser.
Fixing the real-world edge cases
The implementation involved category synchronization, mobile spacing, navigation layering, add-on placement and checkout hand-off. These are the details that make the difference between a mock-up and a working store.
What I learned
Commerce design cannot be separated from product data. If the interface and the catalogue disagree, the customer loses confidence immediately.
